The response to my website has been overwhelmingly positive, thank you everyone for taking the time to click on and let me know your thoughts. There has been one recurring question...why do you have a picture of rubber ducks? I thought I better explain!
As any of you who have taken my class know - I am a big kid at heart and I love a special occasion! Halloween is one of my favourites. A typical Halloween class will involve fancy dress (on my part - optional for clients!) and of course sweeties. I have incorporated "dooking" for apples with the Pilates push up and one year, I brought in these fabulous rubber ducks as a tool to bring awareness to balance and alignment.
Everyone got to choose their favourite duck, luckily there was no fighting! Often, when I'm teaching I'll use the cue "imagine there is a cup of tea / Gin and Tonic on your pelvis/knee/hip/back" so, this session, we used the duck in place of the imaginary Tea/G&T. It worked really well, gave great feedback and was a lot of fun. The only downside...everyone had to return their rubber duck at the end of class.
I am really looking forward to the day, I can teach in real life again!
